KöR® teeth whitening uses a high-potency, refrigerated whitening gel paired with a special tray to reduce sensitivity after treatment and deliver incredible results. The cold temperature of the gel and design of the tray effectively seals out saliva that otherwise can dilute the whitening process.
Why Do Teeth Yellow Over Time?
Beverages such as coffee, wine, and tea are nice to enjoy when you want to jumpstart your day or unwind. But years of consumption can lead to stained orthat can be embarrassing.
Many patients know what’s causing their tooth discoloration, but some are surprised to see their pearly whites go from light to dark. Common reasons for dull, yellow, or brown teeth include poor oral hygiene, dietary choices, smoking, old age, certain medical conditions, and prescription medications.
Our cosmetic dentists can conduct a quick oral examination and ask you questions about your health history, diet, and more to narrow down the list of causes.
Prior to the KöR teeth whitening process, we’ll also check to see if you have:
- Overly sensitive teeth
- Gum disease or signs of oral cancer
- Worn tooth enamel
- Tooth decay
- Stains resulting from antibiotics, such as tetracycline
- Blue, gray, gold, or orange tones
- Fillings, dental crowns, or veneers that show when you smile
What Sets KöR Teeth Whitening Apart
KöR consists of both in-office and at-home processes with no need for lights or lasers. A portion of your treatment will start in the comfort of your own home after our cosmetic dentists provide you with your specialized whitening tray and refrigerated whitening gel.
Then after 2 weeks of home use, you’ll come into our Cadillac dental office for a short, additional whitening appointment. Periodic maintenance will follow to maintain permanent results and keep your smiling shining bright. On average, patients can see their teeth lighten by up to 16 shades by the time treatment is finished.
Unlike other teeth whitening procedures, KöR teeth whitening uses a desensitizing liquid that’s applied to the teeth before bleaching. This desensitizer works to eliminate or greatly reduce sensitivity commonly felt after.
